Today it's mainly about carp fishing in autumn and how you can be really successful at carp fishing this autumn!
1. Pop Ups or Sinkers in Autumn?
Normally we would say that it depends on the bottom of the water.
Because pop ups can be used very well over weedy or muddy ground.
However, we have noticed in recent years that carp like very bright, very conspicuous pop-ups, especially before the spawning season in spring and especially in autumn.
White, pink, orange or yellow pop-ups in particular have achieved extremely good and, above all, many successes!
So, what we would recommend is to either fish exclusively with such pop ups, for example with a Multi or Ronnie Rig or in combination with a boilie, as a snowman.
2. Sweet or tart in autumn?
Another very interesting question is which flavors work better in autumn.
Firstly, if in doubt, we would always test them against each other.
This means fishing with sweet boilies at one feeding spot and with bitter boilies at the other and then switching to the other type depending on what works better!
What we recommend, however, is that in our experience, the basic mix plays the much more decisive role!
And in autumn, as long as the water temperatures are still between 10°C - 14°C, we would still use fishmeal boilies.
These are usually bitter boilies.
3. How do I prevent bycatch in autumn?
Not at all!
So, there's this myth that "big bait, big fish" is always floating around.
In our opinion, this is only partially true.
We talk to carp anglers a lot and so far no one has ever said that they caught only big carp with big baits and had no bycatch.
Ultimately, if a bream wants to eat the bait, it will usually do so!
If not, she'll keep playing with it until the hook gets caught somewhere on the side!
The fact is, if you fish in a body of water that has a lot of whitefish like bream, chub, tench and so on, you will simply have to catch them :-)
My team and I wish you lots of fun and success!
See you soon,
