Bait Secrets #2: Dipping? Useful or not?
Does it make sense to briefly dip boilies in a dip before throwing them out?
Will it really catch more carp? Does this increase your chance?
Our answer: IT DEPENDS ON TIME/DURATION!
In our opinion, it makes NO sense at all to quickly dive into a dip or the like just before casting the boilie or whatever bait you are using, in order to get more chances than without!
The reason for this is that the dip is washed off the boilie immediately after it touches the water surface and thus only floats on the water surface and does not make the bait any more attractive.
Correct Dipping/ Soaking - This is the most important rule!
A rule of thumb that you should follow so that dipping or soaking makes sense: And this is... ...the dipped or soaked bait can only give off the taste as long as it has had time to absorb it!
What does that mean...?
It depends on the duration! A boilie that is only briefly dipped in a dip only has this on the surface. As a result, the boilie did not have time to absorb the dip and therefore cannot release it for a long time! We therefore recommend that you put in the boilie or pop-up at least one day before your hide!
This gives it enough time to soak up the liquid and can also release it attractively to your fishing spot over a longer period of time, thus drawing the attention of more fish!
However, if you're not fishing right now because it's winter and you don't want to go out on the water in the cold, then now is the perfect time to upgrade your baits with dips for the coming season and soak them in!
Because the longer they are left in, the better they get and the better it works!
IMPORTANT! You CANNOT soak your bait for too long!
It may be that they become a little softer, but they are definitely a thousand times more attractive!
Conclusion:
When dipping or soaking, it definitely makes sense to soak the bait for a longer period of time so that it becomes even more attractive for the carp and the aroma and flavoring substances can be released into the water over a longer period of time!
